Updates, setbacks & holiday blues
Well, Thanksgiving thru New Years is a bit of a blur for me. I got one sinus infection, bronchitis or pollen allergies right after each other. I just couldn't shake that horrible cough. Danny & I both work retail so holiday time is not an option to be off. I was sidelined from all workouts with no energy.
Christmas wasn't like most years. I missed baking all the normal sweets. I missed seeing my extended family. I really didn't do much of anything but cough. I had already planned to have the week between Christmas through New Year's off. Danny & I had grand plans to kick start our training. Didn't happen 😂
New Year's Eve probably was the highlight of the season. I finally broke down and went to the doctor. The nice shot in my behind was the perfect way to bring in the new year. We went to dinner with our family that was fantastic.
Over the week off Danny and I had a lot of time to talk about our plans with racing. We did a lot of purging through our closets, running shoes, and putting away Christmas festivals.
January 3 was going to be our new beginning. Danny & I started our kick start with a two hour spin class on Saturday and an hour long run on Sunday.
Upcoming races till the big day for me are set and I’m looking forward to seeing some running buddies from out of town.
