Getting in the mile

Challenges don't stop us from doing the miles. Over the past 6 months we have been raising our grandson. Going from having only one 18 year old left in the house to a 3 year old is to say the least rocked our world. Daycare, potty training, diaper bags & strollers just to name a few things you try and forget. When this challenge came to us Danny asked if we should hold off on our goals. Thinking about that questions  I responded that heck no. If we have to strap the kid to our bike, back or running stroller we would do ironman.
Our daily Monday thru Friday routine is I get up at 530 am to get in my miles before work and before the Texas heat gets over 100*. Danny on the other hand has a more adventurous run then I. He gets the kid & the 15 pound dachshund ready for preschool. Straps them in the running stroller and away they go about 2 miles round trip. Now Barnabas (dog) will start with the jog after a mile usually ends up riding with the kid. Someday they add miles to the ride to school or after drop off. Danny has no shame with running through our town with just a dog in a stroller.  Whatever it takes to get in the miles before work.
